Victoria Racing Club required a versatile audiovisual solution for multiple event spaces at Flemington Racecourse. These function rooms regularly host corporate events, presentations, hospitality functions, and private gatherings, each requiring different AV configurations.
The challenge was to integrate modern presentation technology without compromising the venue’s refined and heritage-inspired interior design.
The venue’s function rooms needed to support a wide range of event formats—from formal presentations and conferences to race-day hospitality and networking events.
For presentation events, high-quality projection systems were required. However, when the rooms were used for dining or social functions, visible AV equipment would detract from the sophisticated aesthetic.
Traditional projector mounts would leave equipment visible and permanently installed, which was not suitable for the venue’s design standards.
Ultralift worked with client to manufacture motorised ceiling-mounted projector lift systems designed to discreetly house the projectors within the ceiling cavity.
These automated lifts allow projectors to lower into position when required for presentations and retract completely out of sight when not in use. The system maintains the clean, elegant appearance of the function rooms while still providing high-performance AV capability.
The lifts were programmed with preset height positions, allowing staff to quickly deploy the projectors depending on the event setup without needing to manually adjust equipment.
The final installation delivered a flexible and discreet AV solution that allows the function spaces to transition seamlessly between presentation mode and hospitality mode.
By concealing projectors within the ceiling when not required, Ultralift helped the venue maintain its premium visual standard while still providing modern presentation technology.
The result is a clean, adaptable event space that supports the diverse range of functions hosted by the Victoria Racing Club.
