For the ultimate in futuristic glamour, it’s hard to go past a remote-controlled, floor-concealed flat-screen TV like this one, built into a new home in rural NSW.
Installed by Len Wallis Audio in conjunction with Poole Design Company architects this ‘floor plasma lifter’ is the next step beyond a cabinet-concealed screen. “The owners of this home love their rural location and didn’t want to spoil the views with a large screen,” says Wallis.
Suitable for new buildings and any size screen, this type of fit-out requires serious forward planning. “To install a floor plasma lifter, we need to build a pit under the floor and this needs to happen before the slab’s poured,” says Wallis.
A single remote control activates the lifter and operates the television and sound system.
